the guy in red should be banned for life, he ment to do it. i hope hes happy now.

Thing is, I've seen later more intended fouls, to hurt people, I don't think the guy going in to get the ball was really going into the tackle intended to snap his ankle... literally, I don't think anyone would be that disgusting.

He should be banned for at least 5 games though IMO.

No.. how can you say that? No pro footballer will mean to do that as they know what an injury like that can do to there career. I know the person that did it to Eduardo was very very sorry and went to visit him in hospital e/c/t.

EDIT: I agree with above though, he should get a punishment but not a ban for life.

Not breaking his leg and ending his career though surely. As for *REMOVED*, wow shows how mature you are.

What? What league was this in and what team is it :S Why would they want to break each others legs...

And -rep for being a ****, not it's not my name and if you could read then you'd see that so no need to act like an immature brat.

EDIT: Need to spread..

Standard and Anderlecht.

What? I don't sit and read "Oh look that's x" and memorise the name. I saw the a & the n. Don't get your handbag out dear. You can't -rep me because you did it a few days ago unless you run around HxF handing out reputation left, right and centre.

Come on, I think you will agree this is not the look of a man who has gone into a tackle intending to break someones leg...

As requested by MATTHEW!!!!!!!!!!!1

I'm not condoning it at all, he shouldn't have been that little bit late and shouldn't have a raised foot, and maybe he could have pulled out, but I don't see why anyone would intend to do that to someone.

Still horrific though, did he even get sent off for it?

Well, my name is above my post so it can't be that hard can it  Anyway, not gona talk about that again. These are respected clubs so why would they do anything like that? Also, looking into it Witsel was someone that Man U were intrested in. From what i've read, he isn't a bad guy and is very young and he said in the post match interview he was sorry and didn't mean to do it at all so I think it was an accident. Maybe he did mean to hurt him a bit but not to end his career.

EDIT: Yes he got sent off.

It doesn't matter if the clubs are respectable. Look at that scummy ****** Keane and what he did a few years ago. But fair point, probably meant to hurt him a bit. Still stupid though.

Yea I know but when you said that they meant to do it from the start, that's why I said why would repectable clubs want to do it. I understand if one player from a big club has an attitude but the whole team would be a bit wierd. Yeah he was stupid and should get a ban of probably a couple months at least.

Comeon, it's a horrific injury yeah, but I doubt the guy meant to do it.. Martin Taylor was half way up Eduardos leg but he never meant to do it.. Well hope this guys career hasn't been ruined anyway :(

Eduardo broke his ankle...

Cissé has recovered twice, this player should be able to.
Idiot Witsel going in like that. What a ****.

I'm in two minds on this one.

1st situation:
Looks like this was intentional. You can see him staring down the other player as he comes in for the slide.

2nd situation:
Looking at his leg movement, it seems he was trying to chip the ball up.

man, its hard seeing those images. i just hope the guy can make a recovery

i reckon the punishment should be he should be banned until that guy can walk at the very least

luce
31-08-2009, 09:12 PM
ugh that was pretty rank, no one can go in with the intention of doing that to someone's leg. Whether he intended to injure him i don't think so because his face looked like he was half trying to back out.

Oh lordy. Although the guy in red went in with studs showing I don't think it was intentional, unfortunately caught the player when he was going to swing for the ball. Hope he can make a quick recovery.

I don't think he'll be making such a fast recovery.
