Uploadpicz.com has uploaded its last pic.
We regret to inform you.....actually that's a lie we are quite pleased about the situation let me start again.
We are happy to inform you?....
We are informing you (that will do) that uploadpicz.com is going to be closed permanently. Many of you may believe that it is to do with the recent security compromise that occurred yesterday evening however it has been the wishes for general management for approximately a year now to close the site down.
Uploadpicz has oddly grown to become very popular not so much within our habbox community but outside it, the many uploads we receive each day has made it harder for us to moderate the content to ensure that no illegal or pornographic images were uploaded to our site. It has been abused in recent months by people who have been uploading their site images to our servers so they could save their bandwidth and the site has grown to 15GB which when combined with the backups costs us an extra $40 a month which we are no longer willing to spend after the advert revenue for december returned us a pitiful £0.32.
This is the main reason for why we have decided to close the site as it just isn't financially feasible coupled with there are other sites available that host images for free and function better than uploadpicz.
We will continue to keep the currently hosted images available on the site so not to ruin your signature images and what not but we suggest using other sites for you image hosting requirements such as imageshack, photobucket or tinypic from now on.
