The Saints and The Colts will go head to head at Super Bowl 44 after they both won their respective conference matches last night.

The Saints won a thrilling game against the Vikings 31-28 to clinch the AFC Championship, meanwhilst the Colts came from behind to beat the Jets 30-17 to win the NFC Championship.

Who do YOU think will win Super Bowl XLIV?

Us Cowboys lost against The Vikings and Saints beat The Vikings, so Ima hope that Orleans will win :)

It'd be nice for Orleans to win given their recent trauma etc but I think the Colts will.

I don't know. I really don't get why when the Super Bowl comes around, everyone suddenly follows American football. What number is XLIV anyway?

Sergio, It's the same as cricket around the ashes.

Colts will win, but I'd like Saints to.

Personally I've always found American Football quite complicated, but recently I've begun to understand it better and better, and when you really watch it and learn about it, it's not that difficult.

The Super Bowl is one of, if not THE most watched sporting event in the world. It's a big occassion, and I think that's why so many people latch onto it. But I haven't just "joined on the bandwagon", I take an interest in the NFL.

I realise it's huge. If I latch on it'll certainly be a bad wagon moment :P. And lol, my bad about the number!

Its huge I agree, in America they go crazy for it (like insanely crazy, I was in Florida/Orlando not long ago and they were going crazy, and I don't even think their team was playing :S), Is it now bigger than the FA cup final? I've always recognized that as the biggest and most watched sporting event, and so have many millions...

It's the most watched one-off sporting event in the world. They have like "Superbowl weekend" where it's all parties and stuff.

Well yeah, I'd expect it to be big in the states. I meant how I hear people irl talking about it in the UK even though for the rest of the year I never hear a word about NFL.

I own Madden 06,07,08,09 & 10. I used to stay up when they had live games on Five (almost every 2 days until Sky came in), bought the 'jerseys' etc etc. How dare you condemn my support to NFL.

No, I still don't know all the rules either.

That's because Sky own the sporting scene but still fail to bring us all the football that they have available to them.

Super Bowl week is nearly here and for the first time ever, the traditional Pro Bowl game between the AFC and NFC 'allstars' will be played BEFORE the Super Bowl, this upcoming weekend.

Sorry for the bump but we are just THREE days away from Super Bowl 44, and the build-up has been bigger than ever.

Who do you think will be the dominant quarterback come Sunday - Peyton Manning of the Colts or Drew Brees of the Saints?

Judge Judy
04-02-2010, 07:28 PM
I think Manning would be the dominant one of the two, personally.

Oh and EA Sports have predicted Saints 35-31 Colts, having made only one complete fail of prediction over the years. Note; prediction don't mean it's gonna happen :P

THREE hours til the 44th Super Bowl gets underway in Miami. Over ONE BILLION people are expected to watch the biggest annual sporting event in the world tonight. What a spectacle it should be.

Who will be watching tonight?

I'll be watching but not an NFL fan at all.

Apparently there's a basic rules starter pack at www.skysports.com/nfl for anyone who wants to watch tonight's big event and understand the basics of the game if you didn't already.

I watched one match a few years back and was hooked, didn't understand the rules and still don't know some of them but it's great to watch. Great tactical game.

Same with all American sports tbh.

Bores me to tears. Hate yanks who bash (real) football (I'm not a fan of that either) as if it doesn't exist, when it has 300 billion x the audience. I like to see people get messed up, but for that rugby is far better.

Almost halfway through the first quarter and the Colts lead 3-0 courtesy of a Stover field goal. First quarter is living up to it's Super Bowl reputation at the moment - dull.

HALFTIME - Saints 6-10 Colts. Field goal by the young kicker Hartley pulls New Orleans to within 4 points, but the Saints will be wishing they had gone for the FG before now. Saints slowly making their way back into the game though, and it'll be an exciting 2nd half.

Half time entertainment by The Who now, oh joy..

It was the receivers, not Manning. And the crap defense.

New Orleans just sat back and allowed them to make all short passes. They hoped for the mistake and it just happened. He got intercepted because he just went for it as they were losing.

He got pissed off because the receivers couldn't catch. The play before he got intercepted he could've had a TD but receiver dropped an an easy catch.
