Well exciting news at justice HQ.

We have decided to post some of the news of our developments planned for 2010.

Habboxforum.com

So with the latest release of from vBulletin of the 4.0 version of their flagship software we have decided to upgrade our boards to 4.0. Sadly this means we are to lose all of our beloved styles that we have used and kept over the last 6 years.

However Jamesy has been hard at work developing new styles for our 4.0 board. Though we only have a few styles to begin with we hope to have a collection by the end of the summer to increase the ever variety that we have had.

This also marks the end of an era, those of you that have been with us from the start or for a long time will be well acquainted with our classic skin. The classic skin was designed by Wayne_J an ex-hobba back in 2004 in order to match the design of the original habbox site. It has stuck with us all this time with very few changes to it and has remained our default style from the start with the exception of seasonal layouts.

In the 4.0 version the classic skin will be gracefully retiring from its position as the default for habboxforum and our newly updated site style will be taking its position.

Other changes to occur to Habboxforum during this upgrade phase will be.

The actual, for real, 100% honest removal of blogs! So please save them elsewhere whilst you can.
We will hopefully be updating the user ranks across all usergroups to something a little bit more attractive.

This should hopefully be completed by 21st February at the very latest.

Habbox.com

We have some massive changes in store for habbox.com although a lot of the details are rather classified at this stage and we haven't actually come up with a final specification but think its still worth mentioning. As I know we have a good portion of HxF users are tech minded I will speak in tech speak and maybe in a few months time for those who have a social life we will release pretty pictures or a list of features.

By the end of this summer we hope to bring habbox out of the dark ages and into the realms of web 2.0, benefiting from technologies such as open authentication aswell as incorporating high levels of interactivity and rich media content. We no longer want to design habbox.com based of feedback from our users we want to instead want to provide you with a platform so you may design habbox.com the way you think it should be.

We also want to be the driving force behind many other sites to encourage and promote more users to try creating websites by allowing them to use our own API to make a more open content site (SOA).

But enough of the nitty gritty lets talk about rares.

It would seem that apparently Habbox.com is quite popular for rare values, which is why over next week we will be releasing V2 of our rare values system which has had a massive (and much needed) update.

This is the very start of what we are trying to achieve by the summer, there is one feature in V2 which we are quite pissed off about because Habbo have already gone and released their equivilent whilst we were in mid-development which has left us slightly fuming though neither one of us were aware of the others plans.

We are planning on updating the rare panel system in a sequence of phases just because looking at the project straight on was a bit depressing for more then one of us especially our resident coder behind the rare values system (Blob).

Hopefully the first release of the rare values system shall be the end of next week at the latest.

Thanks for reading and feedback (not questions) is welcomed especially your ideas for new features for habbox.com.

Regards,

Jin & the Habbox team
