Hungarian international Marton Fulop will train with City tomorrow after switching from Sunderland on an emergency loan.

The move comes after Blues number one Shay Given’s (http://mcfc.co.uk/Players/Goalkeepers/Shay-Given)season was ended by a dislocated shoulder at Arsenal on Saturday.

Twenty-six-year-old 6’ 5” Fulop is no stranger to being in a club on a temporary basis after having stints at Chesterfield, Coventry and Sunderland whilst a Spurs player and then joining Leicester and Stoke from the Stadium of Light.

Given’s injury and an operation to back up Stuart Taylor (http://mcfc.co.uk/Players/Goalkeepers/Stuart-Taylor) has left City with just one fit senior keeper in Faroe Islands international Gunnar Nielsen (http://mcfc.co.uk/Players/Goalkeepers/Gunnar-Nielsen).

Fulop is likely to play against Villa on Saturday as Roberto Mancini’s (http://mcfc.co.uk/Players/Management/Roberto-Mancini) side seeks to book a place in next season’s Champions League.

“The Club, with the backing of the Premier League, have been in contact throughout the day with both Birmingham City and Sunderland with regards to bringing either Joe Hart (http://mcfc.co.uk/Players/Goalkeepers/Joe-Hart) or Marton Fulop to the team on an emergency basis,” confirmed a Blues spokeswoman.

“Agreement has not been reached with Birmingham, but we anticipate that Marton Fulop will join us in training tomorrow and we thank him and Sunderland AFC for their help in this situation.”

Agreement was reached but premierleague said no. Man City offered us 1.6m to end his loan spell early which was accepted. Peter Pannu said he would defenetly consider letting Joe go back (even before the money was offered) yesterday in order to keep up the two clubs aparent 'fantastic relationship' (first i have heard of our relationship!)

Source - Evening Mail will try and get a link on the internet.
Although none of that matters.

Would not go that far. But look at his age and look what he has done for us this season. I think he would do a better job than given. And give it a few years and if he is getting regular football, he will be world class.

Shouldn't be allowed, not just because I'm a Spurs fan.

Chelsea didn't get one when they played their third choice keeper with an academy product on the bench.

Maybe Spurs should be allowed to sign an emergency right back on loan!?

Decent signing, I suppose you couldn't get anyone else. From my point of view hope he impresses alot at City so they go onto hopefully signing him.

Wish he had, almost as bad as Fulop however he's injured.

JackBuddy

Fulop's not as bad as some people are making out. Most PL goalkeepers have pretty much the same ability-wise but it's the odd individual error/brilliance that seperates them.

I remember when they was showing the city v kasier chiefs or something game outside the stadium on that big screen. And taylor the bent noob let in a really bad goal, that chip. And we lost 2 - 0 , then when the commentator mentioned we were the richest team everybody did a little sarcastic cheer.

Then we all ran to the front entrance and saw adebayor come in, timing!!
