I hope he doesnt leave, i'm no expert on football but hes been a good manager and actually genuinely seems to love the club.

Maybe I got it muddled up. I presume he's saying that Benitez is in fact failing? If so my post reflects that.

The title makes it sound so bad lol. Basically benitez sacked :p anyway good move. It would be difficult to say he has done very well over the last few years

I really don't think he's gonna go for 3 mil. I hope he doesn't.

I'm not sure I understand how they got away with giving him 6m when like someone else said there were rumours of him being able to get more like 20m if pushed. Either way, sad to see him go, everyone recognises last season was bad but really I don't see how he can be sole blame of what happened. O'Neill is odds on to replace him and I can't stand the guy ;l Hiddink is up there though, i'd take him.

If they sacked him they would have to have paid him 16m which was written into his contract. Therefore they bought him out so he left via mutual consent, therefore Liverpool didn't have to meet the contract.

He seems like a decent guy anyway and was there for 6 years. He knows the financial state of the club and I doubt he'd want them to loose £16 Million.

That's what I was thinking, I doubt he'd have dug his feet in and demanded the whole £20m, he does genuinely seem to care about the club.

Apparently they said he had a £5M transfer budget, pathetic really.

They only wanted him gone so it will be easier for them to sell torres, gerrard and mascherano

Just proves that everyone who was saying he was just looking for a big pay-off were all talking out their arses. :)

I really want him to go to Inter!!!
Martin O'Neill anyone? :L

Got my doubts about O'Neill and Liverpool. Would his negative management style not go against Liverpool's values?

Possibly, but to be fair the main criticism people had of Benitez was the lone striker and bringing key players off at crucial moments. Whether you'd call that negative or just plain stupid I dunno lol :P

lol.

Unsustainable, no money to spend and he is in the Champions League for the first time in his career. He turned Newcastle down a few years ago because the commute from Sandbanks was too long so I don't really see why he would join Liverpool.
