There isn't an age limit to drive ANY car :S You could drive a Ferrari of some sort and be perfectly legal as it's down to cost. God knows what they're up to :S

I know one of the companys I called they told me they wouldn't insure me until I was 21 no idea why, but I know quinn doesn't mind about age since that's who i'm with atm. I know some other companys so no till your 21 if the insurance is going to cost more than £5000 lol.

Not true, you couldn't drive a ferrari on the road much under 25 cause insurance company's just wouldn't touch you.

When I went to the BSB there was Nissan stand and they had the new GTR and we were talking to the guy who said that he could get one at a reasonable price as he works there, yet he was 24 and he couldn't find any insurance company that'd touch him.

Some insurance companies decided not to insure young drivers for obvious reasons.

It's a low slung, lightweight two door coupe and probably has more bhp. What is it you drive the now?

Good old directline :P.

I rang asking for a quote and got told after i told them all my details that they couldnt insure me because the payout would be too high???

Excuse me but what about these guys who drive around in BMW or audis etc? the payout will be x3 higher than my 2010 mazda 2!!.

The guy said it would be just over £3000 before he said he couldnt give me a quote (exact figure) but my car is only worth £10,000 so i really cant understand why they said it?.

Some choose not insure young drivers, but I think you should ring back, maybe you'll get a different person and if they say the same thing, ask them to explain why.

Quinn Direct are pathetic. They quoted me well over £2k a year on my 1.2 Clio as a provisional licence holder!!!
Plus I thought they went into administration??

when I had the low-spec tdi golf, i was insured through barclays, when I got the golf GT, it was the same capacity engine (1.9) but more powerful and with better trim, they wouldn't insure me so I had to cancel the policy and go with someone else. It might be the same capacity but it's got more power than a focus.

you can get insured on a ferrari at 17 but not with any old insurance company, it would be a specialist one and very expensive, but there again, if you can afford a 'rarri then you can afford the insurance.
