Germany, not the most talented group of players but they have the technical knowledge and brains to exploit a Spanish defence which has been fragile and is yet to face top opposition.

Holland v Germany final would be amazing, mainly because the rivalry is 10x bigger than ours.

Spain. And Holland have been 10x better than Spain in this WC, but I think the inexperience will show against Spain who will dominate possession imo

Germany will outplay the spaniards. If they can hammer Argentina 4-0 (along with similar results) and Spain scrape past Paraguay then I can see another 3 or 4 goal slaughtering.

I'd want a Spain - Holland final so that someone new wins the WC. But a Germany - Holland final would also be very good. Either way, should be a great final. I really want to see Germany go a goal down and then see what they do. Most their goals come from counter-attacks so I wanna see how they cope with their backs against the wall.

Would be GREAT if we won but if we lose that final that would suck.
Because people in holland and germany still talk about the wc final in 1974 between holland and germany.. (2-1) So if Germany beat holland now we have to hear that a another 30 years xD

I'm from holland

German players refused to shake hands with Dutch players before their 1988 WC Qualification tie in Munich because Ronald Koeman had wiped his *** with a German shirt during the EC 1988.

During EC 1988 a banner in the stadium read "Grandpa, I got your bike back !", Germans used to steal bikes from dutch people during World War 2.

Lothar Matthaus has been the most hated German in Holland for a couple of years (I know this hatred is aimed the other way round)

Frank Rijkaard spit on Rudi Voeller during the WC 1990 when they were both sent off.

And a another funny holland vs germany comcercial

germany to win though i think both teams have a great chance and i hope it doesnt go to penalties as it will do neither of them the justice they deserve. gonna be a great match.

plus the whole holland germany thing i dont see happening, maybe between fans but germany have been imo the most sportmanshippy (not a word) team ive seen in the whole of the WC. they just do the job and move on wishing the other team well. i hope holland win but uruguay arent exactly pushovers they could beat holland

If it goes to Penalties, Spain will win.

Germany have Lahm, Klose, Podolski, Bastian that have all taken penalties on the big stage before I think.

Spain have... well everyone really. Torres, Villa, Fabregas, Xavi, Iniesta, Silva e/t/c

Casillas > Neuer too, even though he hasn't been amazing this year.

german goalkeeper is what lets down the german team i think hes a bit dodgy though his kicking out is superb i mean he gets some distance doesnt he i mean wowow just have to see the first goal against england, thats a great kick by the goalie but mmmmmmmmmmmmm hes not as good as casillas. so happy they beat the paraguayans tho, theyre dirty cheats who do better at diving than the olympic ppl do. ;/

Considering Germanys performance it really has been a Blitzkrieg of skill and determination while Spain has been very very close to the knuckle. Germany will be a slow starter against Spain and I reckon the Spaniards will knock one in before Germany retaliate with two goals. 2-1 Germany.

Pyroka
04-07-2010, 09:59 PM
one thing does have to change. if spain want to beat germany then they have to get rid of that useless torres i mean what the **** was he doing against paraguay, useless. hes obviously not as fit as he should be, its noticeable as he was missing every opportunity he had. i just hope the spanish realise that. also the german defence will easily whack a scrawny lad like that.

as for germany they dont really need to change a thing cept well they havent got mueller for the spain game which is a bit of a shame as he played amazing, as do all the team. i think spain will lose due to the enthusiasm the new german generation are showing.

CHA!NGANG

The German defence is quite slow. Torres + Villa are very fast. The Spanish will use that, rather than the fact that they aren't the strongest.

The German keeper is a very good keeper, but he wasn't even meant to be the number 1, and this is his first time as German keeper so he's bound to be a bit nervous although he hasn't done much wrong so far.

hes had the german striking assistance for a morale boost so like he hasnt needed to do ALOT of goalkeeping lol he does perform when needed though, still think they could do with someone better. but hey with time grows experience..... villa will cause problems no doubt i just think torres is a bit of a girl i mean hes more like bambi than a striker

Germans on pens, I think we all know who wins there.

This German team is class, they've been a bit under-estimated so far and now they've been recognised so this might be to their disadvantage but Spain really haven't looked good so far. Paraguay could well have beaten Spain and with the attacking power of Germany, they could well tear Spain apart. They'll mis Mueller though.

CHA!NGANG

Torres when fit is in the top 5 in the world, but he isn't fit, and it shows badly. But.. he's had quite a few games now to get fit, so he might be able to step it up soon. If not, Fabregas will be ready dw ;)

And na Neuer is one of the best young keepers in the world, no need for anyone better. They have Adler though who is the number 1 but is injured.

Wierd that this German squad wasn't meant to look like this. They were missing some key men, and 3-4 of them would have started.

---------- Post added 04-07-2010 at 10:16 PM ----------

Yeah I know the Germans with pens but I think that Spain might have an advantage this time. They've already missed 1 pen this WC, could be a sign :P

Germany have been the best team in this years world cup. They've blitzkrieged every match and had an outstanding amount of determination. Many of the players and fans were surprised by the outcome from Argentina and have commented they are not going in over-confident with Spain.

Their sportsmanship has been great and they've been very good on the field, they deserve to go to the finals with Holland and I'd be glad to see them win, but I'd love to see Holland win too.

The 2010 World Cup is reaching the culmination we have all been waiting for, the Final, but first this week the final four will clash for the top two spots. On the 6th Uruguay will face off the Netherlands, who are having a great run at the 2010 World Cup, despite being far away from favorite at the beginning of the competition. And on the next day millions all over the world will have the chance to watch the clash of the 2010 World Cup titans - Germany vs. Spain. Both semi-final games are guaranteed to be a delight for the soccer connoisseur, but naturally the Germany vs. Spain game will attract the most attention, a game worthy of being the final for the World Cup.

Therefore we will start with the betting odds review of the 2010 World Cup semi-final game Germany vs. Spain. It is obvious for everyone keeping up with the World Cup from the get-go that the Spaniards had a really hard time in the competition, making it through the stages, but not with the “gusto” many had expected from what was (and still is) the favorite team to win the 2010 World Cup. On the other hand, the Germans did not enjoy the love of the odds makers, who used to place Germany among the top 2 favorites almost every World Cup. But the young team led by Joachim Loew have clearly shown they are a group of footballers out for the win and the game against the star-laden Spain will sure be one for the books.

And speaking about books, let’s check the latest 2010 World Cup odds on the Germany vs. Spain game. Starting with the popular online sportsbook Bodog Sports, we find that Spain remains the favorite to win the World Cup with odds 2/1 as well as the favorite to win the semi-final game against Germany - Spain is sitting on +155 odd to win the game, while Germany is once again the underdog with odds +170 to reach the World Cup Final game. Granted the odds on the Germany vs. Spain game are far from the usual “long-short” we are used to, the odds makers are still going with Spain as the favorite and will stick to their guns, unless a betting pattern emerges to give Germany the edge by the 7th. Draw in regular time will pay out on +225 odds, which is once again much smaller payout that one would expect for a draw. We also compared those odds with the Germany vs. Spain odds at another popular sports betting website, Bookmaker, and found out that the betting odds on this semi final game are exactly the same as those at Bodog Sports.

As far as the other semi-final game, Uruguay vs. Netherlands, the odds are much more predictable. According to the bookmakers at Bodog Sports, the Netherlands will have little problem continuing their great run and reaching the final of the 2010 World Cup. At Bodog the Dutch team is listed with the -165 odds to win the semi-final game tomorrow, while Uruguay is holding the whopping +550 odds to deliver an upset in the semi-final game; the draw in regular time will pay out on +250 odds at the sportsbook.

Here are the latest odds on the 2010 World Cup winner, as posted by Bodog Sports:
Spain - 2/1
Germany - 11/5
Netherlands - 11/5
Uruguay - 10/1
Clearly not much of a surprise here with Germany and Netherlands splitting the odds to win the 2010 World Cup and Uruguay as the big underdog for the tournament, Of course, those odds will change drastically once the Germany vs. Spain game has drawn a winner, but at this point the payout difference is quite tight as shown by the World Cup odds posted by the bookmakers. Betting will be available both before and during the semi-final games - so head over to Bodog to open an account and get 10% bonus on your first deposit.
