Hi, on Saturday I am taking my driving test in my own car. I remember when booking the test I had a few options to tell them if I was using my instructor's car or whatever, but I hadn't decided on that. It's now only 2 days to go, and I know exactly what I want to do and that is to go in my car - but because it's so close to the test I have no option to change it on their website.
Do they need to know beforehand, or can I just turn up and say it's in my own car? Should I ring them up and tell them?
I would call and find out so you don't waste your time going there with just your car. Good luck on the test though, I know I was nervous haha.

Just turn up with it, you go over the car your using and the insurance details of it etc just before your test (that's what happened with me when I went for my test yesterday) and the examiner gives it a good scrutinise before you carry on with the test, so I think you'll be fine.
Good luck!

Did they let you use it? Did you pass?

I don't see why they wouldn't let you use your own car but I suppose if you had lessons in your instructors car, you may be more familiar with it. But how did the test go, hope you passed! :)

Hey, yeah I went for i-kube insurance so the hours I drive are limited in return for cheaper insurance. But still, it's incredible I can go anywhere I want now :D

With I-Kube do you have to have a tracker in your car? And what are your limited hours/insurance cost if you don't mind?

A tracker is fitted, can't drive between 11.00pm and 5.00am but if you do you're still covered, just have to pay £60. Cost for my Saxo was £2485. Not ideal, but better than quotes of £3.5k
