Do you have one, and if yeah do you think it's been worth it?

I got mine in September for £13 and I've saved probably about £50 on stuff with it, a great buy imo.

Used it to buy heaps of presents over Christmas from online stores. They're widely recognised in museums and points of interest too - it's been well worth it :)

Mine was £10 for 2 years. They are worth it, free cheese burger at mcdonalds ;). I've saved so much money with mine, feels like you're getting more for your money.

I want one, they sound well worth it. Is anyone who is in full time education and over 16 entitled to it?

Samantha.

Yeah infectious, usually if you go college or 6th form :)

YES!!!!!!!!! Sometimes they let me have the special ones (like Creme Egg / Chocolate Orange) but mostly they just limit to Dairy Milk / Smartie / Crunchie. My friends tend to get some free fries too lol :P

Yeah I got one in September, it's pretty useful to be honest although I've only used it for clothes and London Underground (Saved around £100 already though :D), well worth getting even if the NUS is a bit of a sham.

Yeah I have one, mainly used it for MS Dreamspark to get £100s of software for free, use it at Amazon and Play.com too.

Used it when buying a few items online and Mc Donalds annoyed that some retail shops don't accept it :(

So it works a bit like those vouchers you get that let you get like a free box of fries when you buy, say a burger?

Samantha.
03-01-2011, 09:17 PM
If you order a meal and show your NUS card and say you want fries they give you an extra lot of fries

JACKTARD

I've asked for student discount at retail stores before and they've said that they don't do it and I didn't feel an idiot, suppose it's because it's for more expensive items rather than for a £2 burger lol

Samantha.
03-01-2011, 09:18 PM
I've done that before but it's worth a try! Places do the discount even if it doesnt say on the NUS website.

Make sure you check your student card for the NUS logo if you're thinking about getting an NUS card because in most cases, your card will be both an NUS card AND student ID, whilst others will just be a student ID with no NUS logo! Saves you paying out the £13 if you've already got it.

You can also get a free chesseburger with any large meal at mcdonalds! I use mine all the time

I normally use mine in shops such as New Look and GAME because they give 10% off when you show the card. I got 10% off in OFFICE once, saved like £5 on some shoes.

Nar mine doesn't have one. £13 sounds worth it though.

Im not encouraging this but you can use it as ID to buy drink if your under 18 just put your 18 as you write in the details yourselves. Only local corner shops are fooled by it and not big chain supermarkets.
