Just wondering , is there law regarding how long a school can hold you back after school hours?

I guess as long as you're released at a reasonable time and allowed breaks and stuff then there is no issue. My school has students until around 6pm, most of them (if not all) there by choice though.
In terms of 'holding you back' I would say maybe an hour to an hour and a half? I'm unsure because no one has been held back for more than a few minutes at my school lol

I don't think so but aren't the school obliged to give 24 hours notice to your parents if they keep you out of normal hours?

Our school has to give 24 hours notice if it's more than 30 minutes...
