It could also mean that he does have the real version, but sadly never put the code in a safe place e.g. in the case, which is in a place where it most probly wouldn't get moved. I do agree with sketti aswell there. You shouldn't download anything which is free, unless it is an offical site. E.g. you shouldn't download free music, as it is illegal, Napster or even a Pay To Download website are good examples of law binding contracts :)
