17, coming 18. Ideally going to pass my test June/July, maybe August at the latest. Going to be going with a small car, probably a Renault Clio MX 2003 with a small engine. Looking to get insured on my name alone, I don't think it would be possible to get my dad on the insurance and then me as a 2nd driver as the car would be in England for 8 months of the year and I'd be driving it all then. I'll be going to England for University and I'd really like a car, so don't tell me that I don't need one. I would like one as I despise public transport and want to visit people. How much would both car/insurance cost, roughly? What am I looking at.

What the above person quoted, im 17 and should be taking my practical in June, I will be on my dads insurance who has NCD for 12 Years, Hes quoted on a VW Polo 1.2 SE at £30 a month, with me on the policy it goes up to £91 a Month, and Subtotal of £1,118,00 a year, i advise you check out this site : www.coverbox.com they are probably the cheapest insures around. they also fit your car with a tracker free of charge.
