well you will need a degree, to get into uni you will need A Levels (to include a science preferably) or a level 3 BTEC ND in something like sports science.

My btec course was a BTEC sport level 1 :)
Do a high level sport e.g. BTEC lvl 3 sport or A-level sport.

having 2 A* GCSEs is quite different to a BTEC thats supposedly equivalent. theyre not worth the same whatever your teachers tell you (hence why the govt is getting rid of them).

It looks like a fun job...
get the higher groups - have a laugh with them about a sport...
get the lower groups - have a laugh at there expense xD

I've always wanted to be a P.E teacher if my career as a Police Officer failed. The steps I would take is a level 3 course in Sports Science and then Uni.

I would love to be in the police force, i think i would enjoy the authority of the job, would especially like kicking a door in and shouting 'freeze!...police'

Unfortunately you don't "kick a door in". The Police use an enforcer which is a battering ram to break down doors and access houses etc. and in most forces, you need to be part of a specialist team, such as an Armed Response Unit. Merseyside Police have the Matrix Team.
Off Topic but I would hate to be a police officer, let alone in Merseyside. I hate being a steward and that gives me enough stick every Saturday :/

Ok, there are loads of differents ways that allow you to get into teaching. Firstly, you can follow the most common route, you can do your GCSE's, then do your A Level's in your specialist subject and subjects related to it, then you can do your degree or your higher level equivalent, then from there you can do a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate of Education). It basically is a course you do over a year, two placements in two schools, usually different schools, one bad one and usually an OK/nicer one.
You can also go in via the GTP (Graduate Teachers Programme).
Visit www.tda.gov.uk for more accurate advice :) One of my brothers friends has just completed the PGCE and that is the method I want to really use in order to get into teaching! Have fun finding out the information, it's best to plan in advance - trust me! :P
My friend did one (a btec) and is going on to study at uni now to be a PE teacher so you can do it would btec i think in sport science but from what she said it was a very wide course like they did ICT relating to it and other things like that so you really do have a wide and good knowledge of the subjects area, better than people who just do it at A level in my opinion.

Finally someone on this thread with a clue what they're talking about. I was going to post exactly this pretty much. However, be warned: P.E. is an extremely popular subject to teach, and places on PGCE courses and GTPs for P.E. are extremely competitive and they only take on the very best. This means a high degree classification and plenty of experience working with children. I'm applying for PGCE History courses next month and I face exactly the same problem as history is a popular subject.
