I'm tempted to get a 2004 Dynamique for my first car. The engine size is 1.1. The car has 60k miles on it and is up for sale for £1800. I'm bringing my Uncle who is a mechanic with me just to check it out but I've heard people tell me Clio's are accident machines waiting to happen. Is this true? Like if I crash in it, am I ******?

Hey.

Pretty much all small cars aren't generally the best things to be in when a collision happens but I wouldn't say Mk2 Clios are particularly dangerous.

MK2 clio's hold up very well in a crash. I flipped my first one at 50 into a bank and it came out like this:

Only injury I had was a bruise on my hip from the seatbelt buckle hitting it and a bleeding nose from hitting the steering wheel.

It can't be a 1.1 because the smallest engines Clios came with in Mk2 guise were 1.2 8v.

I'm on my second Clio, a 59 plate mk3 with the 1.2 turbo and I love it. I don't exactly know what you mean by "an accident machine waiting to happen", surely that description would only apply to something like this?

sorry wobbie, i dunno there just too small for my liking, although a clio 192 or what ever that would float right up my street.

I don't understand why it's so cheap to have such a low mileage.. hm.

This, an 04 with only 52k should be wayy more than 1500 quid, plus the pic in the ad isn't of the actual car. Go and see it, but make sure it's HPI clear and has a full service history
