Propaganda - Information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicise a particular political cause or point of view.

Over the past couple of weeks I've been studying the uses of Propaganda in Nazi Germany. It's really interesting to see all the different types used to persuade and change peoples minds. Most propaganda in Germany was produced by the Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda. Joseph Goebbels was placed in charge of this ministry shortly after Hitler took power in 1933. For this competition I want you to find one image of a Propaganda poster and tell me why you chose that image. It could be for the layout and the colours used or even the message it's trying to get across. Good luck :)!

Prize: 5 credits + 10 rep

I like this AMERICAN propaganda poster as it shows a lot of truth about the war instead of feeding lies to the american public, the red obvious symbolizes the blood shed of the war and by covering the foot of this machine, which is also a bomb, shows that the bombs/machinery they will use are going to cause blood shed.

My English skills are just to amazing!

the most modern british example of propaganda. i love these posters because they were so heavily targetted by the british public. this one reads "i've never voted tory before, but i've only just had a lobotomy". i loved these posters because they really did hype the election in britain in 2010. it became more of the commercialised american election campaign, and it seemed like the fight really was on the streets of britain. in my home county of the west midlands is where these new propaganda posters were mostly grafittied. and i'm proud to come from such a proud labour area. the poster outside out my college had been painted red, and then in big white letters had: "mate what the **** are you on about?" fab stuff.

I've picked this image mainly because it's trying to get people to join the events team. Although it doesn't say it's great to join the events team etc - it's trying to draw people in to the events team - when clearly HxHD is the best department. Also, the flashing "Click here for more info" draws you in because of it's flashy-ness, which is also something that I decided is propaganda!
