View Full Version : Job help! REP+ 12
DRight well my career ambition is to help people. I'd be over the moon with any of the following:
• Police Officier (Start at Special Constable then onto Officier or Undercover)
• Firefighter
• First responder (Police/Paramedic)
• Paramedic (Ambulance)
• Children's Doctor in Hospital
• Helicopter Rescue
Now obviously the children's doctor would take a lot longer but how do I go about going for these jobs?!
Like getting the training and skills etc?!
So confusing. Help please?
my best friend is currently a special constable while he studies policing at university. i think you apply via the police but obviously it looks a lot better if you have previous interest in the police or are studying policing whatever. then you have to do a months training, he did it over his summer holiday and then you pass out :) he loves it.
Well my force have my application and I've assisted with role play training with their officers.
I'd love to be a SC.
To become a paramedic I think you need a foundation degree or something in paramedic science and a science A level

Okay. Firstly, Special Constable only slightly increases your chance of getting a full time police job and is unpaid. Helecopter rescue is normally either part of the RAF or a seperate organisation which I would imagine that you need engineering qualifications and be able to fly to do this. Doctors have to go to uni. I'm not sure about the rest
Hope this helps!
Special Constable I am happy to unpaid voluntary work around college. I would love to be policing.
I spoke with some Careers advisors and Connexion people today and persued my Special Constable interests. I called my local Police Station and confirmed they do have my application still for when I turned 18 and they do, so hopefully I can advance soon.

To become an ambulance driver/ paramedic
Don't you take like a first response course and go onto emergency response driving
Driving course.
http://www.bespoke-group.co.uk/wordpress/driver-training/blue-light-users/emergency-response-driving-course/
OR alternatively you could talk to the NHS
http://www.nhscareers.nhs.uk/details/default.aspx?id=468
OR Police
http://policerecruitment.homeoffice.gov.uk/
And one I looked into for becoming a fireman
http://www.fireservice.co.uk/recruitment
REALLY HOPES THIS HELPS - Good luck eitherway.
