I decided I wanted to move schools becuase I don't really have much friends at my current school and I wanted a new start. (Plus the school system is stupid soo )

I moved primary schools 3 times, but never high school. So I'm really nervous because they're bigger and there's more people etc. I'm going to my new school in a month.
Has anyone else ever moved high schools and got any tips or whatever?

I'm really nervous. xD
+rep (:

I'm not running away from my problems :P

The schools closer to home (which I forgot to mention) so it'd be easier etc.
And I constantly moved schools in primary because by mums a teacher and when she moved schools I moved with her.

To be completely honest. I'ld hate to ever move schools. Stayed in my primary, high school. Ended up returning to the sixth form. I would feel awkward when moving being new.

Yeah, actually, it does sound like you're running away from your problems. The chances are that moving schools isn't going to make you have any more friends. Just stay where you are and fight for a better experience.

I may be running a little bit but that isn't the main reason :P

I'm moving because yes, I don't have many friends here, and my amazing primary school friend goes there. But mainly because it's closer to home and the schools system isn't as messed up meaning I'd get more GCSEs and I don't have to rush them.

I really need some tips though of how to find friends or whatever though :P

I thought you started your GCSE's in Year 9, so 3 years isn't really rushing them tbh. I don't get really why you are moving, but you've already chosen it. When you move schools you are going to have no friends rather than the couple you had at your other school. But just be yourself when you move.

tips on finding friends IRL:
Be yourself.
Do you have any interests? Your new school may offer an afterschool club of your liking, my school has like over 20000 sports clubs, 10 art clubs and like a million other clubs including a kerrang club for the paramore enthusiasts aha - even though you might consider it 'social suicide' its a great way to make friends or re-discover old ones like i did :3

I would like to move schools but i've made such a great relationship with teachers and people that i'm too attached to leave haha. good luck though!

Is moving schools in the middle of a GCSE course really a good idea?

I know GCSEs aren't that hard or whatever but really you're just creating problems for yourself.

What if you have even less friends at this new school? What then? Will you move back?

Yeahh but it's like, we chose two GCSEs every year and do them in one year, so instead of doing my German GCSE in two years we do them in one year, which makes it really difficult to learn that subject. (My German teacher agreed the schools stupid because of this LOL)

Aw thanks (:

I'm scared that if I'm myself people will think I'm a crazy freak. LOL
I'll probably try some clubs, but I doubt I'd stick to them, but you're right. I could find friends through them. (: x

Ik it might be stupid to move in the middle of GCSEs but I haven't really done too well this year anyway, so if I start at the same time as my new school starts their GCSEs I should be fine, with two extra GCSEs than everyone else. If you see what I mean.
I have three friends (who don't actually 'like' me) at my current school, and I definitely have one friend at my new school. I personally think that it doesn't matter how many friends you have aslong as they like you. Atm my whole school hates me so moving anywhere would be better. :P

I wouldn't be into moving schools, due to me starting from the start of my school in Secondary/High-School it'd be silly to leave while I'm half way through the school years. I wouldn't like to move school, make new friends half way through while most of them have known each-other since they started or if not longer.

But best of luck Cery's in the new school, just be yourself and you should do fine. :)

I've never moved schools but I imagine you just need to get yourself out there, be confident and you'll make some good friends?

i've never moved schools either, stayed in the same one all the way through primary and secondary.
just make sure that you meet some nice people and socialise a little bit, i'm sure you'll be fine anyway.

I moved secondary school when I moved house which was like half way through year 7 so it was just after the stage where everyone had just settled in and become friends with other people and groups started to form and I thought it would of been horrible and I wouldn't make friends at all but everyone was really nice and I made friends really quickly. If you just be yourself and try and talk to people you'll be fine :)
