I went shopping recently and saw another one of my shops being closed down due to the hard-hitting recession. Whilst walking past these empty shops I was thinking about my future and what I would do if I owned an empty shop. It would have to be good enough to attract customers and one which would make money. What I want to know is, what would you do if you were the owner of your own shop?

The most creative and the most economically viable entry wins!

Good Luck!

Offer lots of deals and discounts when I first start out, hopefully this would attract customers. I would retain my customers by holding monthly events where you could get mega deals etc. My shop would sell local produce such as vegetables, jams, bread etc. I would locally source my produce to reduce carbon footprint and grow my own vegetables etc.

I'd open a shop that sells cheap food and do breakfast hours. For example bacon sandwiches for 99p and I would open early in the morning so people can grab some breakfast and a coffee on the way to work. It's very useful for students!
