This is a haiku,
It has a certain structure,
Count the syllables...
Poetry is wonderful - it can take years to finish a novel, and months to finish a poem, but a haiku can be written in minutes! The Japanese were the creators of the haiku-structure; three lines containing 5 syllables, 7 syllables and then another 5 syllables. Look at the example at the top if you're confused...
Traditionally, haikus depict something natural and wonderful; the first snowflake to fall in winter, or perhaps the sun falling below the horizon - a haiku is a tiny snapshot of a much larger image. Time for a little meditated peace! For your chance to win this competition:
Write a haiku that captures the beauty of nature!
The most zen-filled will win!
Good luck!
