The rumours were true. Hopefully they can never find a manager good enough to replace them and they end up like liverpool

Is he actually retiring then? I thought it was just speculation?

Now going to be a club director, so unlucky to whoever takes over. The issue is, every United fan will continue to say (no matter how successful the next manager is) that he "isn't Alex Ferguson".

To be honest, whilst he is undoubtedly the most successful ever manager in English football, he has NEVER proven himself in other football (ie managed a team in Spain, Italy, Germany, France etc) and won league titles. Personally, I despise the man because of his pathetic rants about referees every other week ;l

I'm not a fan of football, and personally I couldn't care less about him, but to all the people that speak badly of him - I'm not entirely sure he cares, I mean, he's the one that's won the X titles at the end of the day. He's done a good job :P

I never thought I'd see this day. I don't know who'd be suitable to replace Fergie.

I'm a united fan & Yes Alex is the best manager we have ever had at united. If another manager comes in and is successful he will get a name at United. Its called moving on where every fan must also do.

Aha, not a problem. Been given a six year contract.

On the topic of Ferguson, I couldn't work out why he was given a knighthood. I then discovered he was a big Labour donor haha
