Aren't they if a member is on your contact/friend list? I'm sure that's the only reason I've had +s.

Thats correct! I don't think many people tend to use the system these days.

I use it as a bookmark. Don't know how useful it is outside of that though tbqh

Quite an old system/feature that remains in vBulletin that doesn't seem to be used by a lot of people.

I have no intentions to remove and it's like one of the core features of vBulletin anyway.
