paramore, no disrespect to you as I believe it to be a national thing, but those GCSE's seem completely pointless :L

I took Stats, Music, PE and Triple Science (and a language, but that was compulsory). PE and music were purely for my enjoyment - love sport and music (don't get me wrong I am very athletic and musical, just I took them for the laugh).

Was just merely questioning them, as that wouldn't make them options :L I wondered if you were saying they were compulsory at your school or something :)

I picked Business Studies because it was all CourseWork [im **** at exams] but they've changed that know at my school

I also picked Health & Social Care which is absolutely ****. Me and my friends picked it because the teacher lied to us-
We will have loads of fun she said. I was bored within the first 30 minutes of the first ever lesson. The only parts i did enjoy was year 11 because we were on the computers all of the time typing up CourseWork.

It doesn't really, though. I took music and PE - yet don't want to work in either industry. Meanwhile, I would love to work in banking or the financial corporate side of consumer electronics - yet at GCSE did not take Business, Add. Maths or anything else like that.

i feel awkward with only saying two options *EVEN THO THATS ALL WE PICKED IN YR 8 ETC* so yeah: i have got/will get geography, german, law, product design, chemistry, biology, physics, pe, it, maths, English and a few more. we do them all in 1 year ;/ SO TRIPLE SCIENCE IN 1 YEAR NEXT YEAR. HOW FUNFUNFUN.

Betsie_Curatola
20-07-2013, 06:22 PM
I also chose back in year 8.
History, Sociology, Spanish and Additional Science (two more modules than core, end up with two GCSEs out of it).

Spanish was the bane of my life, L-O-V-E-D History but got a D, Sociology was my favourite and I carried it on to A-Level, Additional Science was alright I guess.

In year 10 I originally picked:
Geog,

After 2 weeks swapped history with music.
After a year and a few weeks, dropped french.
so ended up with just:

At my school we got 4 options to pick.

Because I wanted to do Triple Science that took away an option since it needed an extra lesson over Double Science.

Then we had to pick a Design and Technology subject, so I had to pick ICT pretty much.

Then because I had already completed French GCSE, I had to do A-Level French in Year 10, so that was another option.

So with one option left, I went for Geography :)

In my school in NZ the compulsory subjects for year 9 were:
English
Maths + Statistics
Science
Social Studies (Geo and History)
Health
PE
Technology (computer, food, fabric + wood)
Arts (music, drama, art + something else cant remember)

and one option either French, Maori or General Studies (graphics and more tech stuff). I chose French but probably should've done General Studies but I'd just moved to the country and didn't want to be split up from the like one person I knew so I did French with her.

Technically I chose my year 9 options for England before I moved here so I chose NCI (advanced ICT), Business Studies and Art.
