Is facial hair on men attractive?

Is facial hair on men attractive? In recent years facial hair has been making a come back amongst the population, with stubble/beards being increasingly common amongst younger people - a stark contrast from the post-war period to the 2000s' where facial hair mostly fell out of fashion apart from a few fads in the 1970s and 1980s. In recent years we have seen the likes of David Beckham sport a near Edwardian styled beard, with younger stars such as Tom Daley, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Zac Efron all sporting short stubble.

So what do you think? it's a relatively easy one this, so give your opinion - does facial hair make a man look good or unkempt/dirty? does facial hair suit most men or only a select few?

It makes men look better imo but most stubble actually really hurts when kissing or... other things. Some men have really soft facial hair and it's quite nice, but I don't really like it.

Then again men who can't grow facial hair or have really patchy stuff are a bit too boy-like for me, reminds me of kids :( but I'd still prefer a bald chin any day.

I find facial hair attractive, whether it be a little stubble or a full on beard or moustache, it depends on the person you're asking and who the person actually is. I agree that facial hair, when it is in the process of growing can hurt a partner when kissing and for the mean time whilst they're growing it out a bit it can look tacky and the rugged look appears dirtier. Usually those without facial hair look a lot younger and although that can also be a nice trait to have facial hair makes a person look older. However, it's whether the hair grows that tints my opinion slightly, I don't really like it when it's growing as reiterating it can hurt when kissing, look messy and in the end the person will probably just shave it off for an easier life. Those with smooth facial hair are attractive more than those with rough, dirty looking beards.

I don't really know what I'm saying anymore, oh well.

I prefer how I look when I have a little facial hair! I think most guys do suit having facial hair, but there are some who don't.

I agree that you need to be at the stage where facial hair doesn't grow in patches to pull it off - otherwise it just doesn't get the same effect!

It's what the forum has come to rather than debates - every single time I post a new selection of debates, the most superficial of them gets the most replies just as this thread has had more replies than say the Libya or Syria threads had. I post one on debt, foreign policy or state spending and it's a struggle to get a page of replies whereas if I post a debate with a picture of One Direction in or a debate that revolves around sex then it can run into a few pages. That's a reflection of forum members, not me.

But for all those complaining including Stephen: two debates on gender-based abortion and Scottish independence have just been posted. Funnily enough though, the people who complain are the ones who never seem to post (nothing to say?) in the more serious debates. :P

Some can make it work, but my limit is stubble. Seriously, facial hair is disgusting. It's okay in a photograph where their face is far away from me and only a few pixels wide so you're like 'oh, they have a bit of a beard, but I can't see the little pr!ckles of hair coming through their face so it's okay. No, all I can see is a darker shade around their face.'
Facial hair is rank. I feel bad because my boyfriend wants to grow it out but I make him shave it all away. It's not attractive! Especially when it's tickling and stabbing your face when you go in for some sweet kisses. MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I'M MAKING OUT WITH A CACTUS OR A BUSHMAN.

I think facial hair comes in and out of fashion and currently its in fashion. I'm not one for looking at other guys but I generally see men with facial hair look better, more mature and manly if they have facial hair. I think girls also find it more attractive.

By facial hair, I don't mean a huge beard, I mean stubble and side burns grown, but trimmed!

it depends on the man really. some guys just look really silly and it doesn't suit them whatsoever, yet some guys look so masculine and sexy mhmm. i hate big thick proper beards, a nice bit of thick enough stubble is extremely attractive on a guy though (obvs still depends on person) i love it when my boyfriend doesn't shave i think it makes him look older and even sexier, whereas when he's all shaved he looks wayyyy younger. it makes me sad to see when he has shaved it all away :( it looks pathetic when young teens are attempting to grow facial hair and it's just random pieces of hair, generally doesn't even look like facial hair, more like they've just stuck some of their eyebrow on their lip. although moustaches are just nasty ALWAYS. makes people look like paedos.

And that's just celebs who are meant to look good always lol, can't think of anyone on here who would benefit from a beard except maybe Bolt so it's easier to tell that he likes kids

O la la, I freaking love men with facial hair. However, not everyone can pull it off. I find mostly guys with dark hair look best with facial hair, also it can't be like a full pledge duck dynasty type beard either. Needs to be well maintained, preferably stubble. NO SOUL PATCHES either! Those are super creepy and unnecessary. If you grow a little patch of hair under your lip and nowhere else, please shave it off because it is super strange.

Personally, I think it really depends on the person. Some guys grow patches of hair which I think is gross. Beards are gross. It all depends I guess. People with really light facial hair look weird I think.
