I have always been really inspired by music. From a young age I was learning how to play instruments, singing and taking a real interest in everything to do with music. It helped me to relax and it slowly became a passion of mine. As a young child I remember wishing I owned certain instruments but then improvising them using regular household items. Some examples of this being my amazing drum-kit I made using saucepans and my amazing cardboard tube which I would blow through and make a weird buzzing noise!
I soon found out that almost anything could be used to make music if you put your mind to it! Even the most unusual objects could be modified to make such amazing sounds which really resemble those a real instrument would make. My nieces would regularly stay at my house and we would create a little band using these different 'instruments' and it actually sounded pretty good!
In this competition I want you to come up with your own homemade musical instrument using a regular household item. Try to think outside the box and come up with something unusual! The one that I think would be most fun to play will win! Good luck.
