Mass of filter = 0.03g

Mass of filter paper + silver chloride = 1.01g

.:. mass of silver chloride agcl = 0.98g

Agno3(aq) + nacl(aq)--- nano3(aq) + agcl(s)

1 mole of agno3 is required to produce 1 mole of agcl

.:. 108 + 14 (3x16)g agno3 is reguired to produce 108+35.5g agcl

.:. 170g agno3 is required to produce 143.5g agcl

.:. 1000cm3 solution contains 170g agno3

.:. 10cm3 of a 1 molar soln of silver chloride contains 1.7g agno3

.:. 1.7g of silver nitrate was wasted

.:. theoretical yield = 1.7 x 143.5 = g

170

.:. theoretical yield = 1.44g

Actual yield = 0.98g

Percentage yield = actual yield x 100

Theoretical yield

= 1.44g

Percentage yield = 0.98g x100 = 68.1%

1.44g
