View Full Version : [Question] Infractions?

LiquidLuck.

Should Habbox get a limit date for issuing those? Like if they happened over 8 months ago and back then the system was not in place, why am I getting the infractions now?

Either way you know how when you commit a crime and if you are not caught for the next say 20 years, you cannot be judged anymore? Well that should totally happen apart from the 20 years part.

Thread moved by e5 (Forum Super Moderator) - From 'Habbox Feedback' as it is better suited here.

We don't PM you or add a usernote if the offence is over 14 days old, we just make the edit and don't leave a modwarn.
I believe there are a few exceptions like racism etc.

If you have an issue, feel free to raise it in the Support Forum here: http://www.habboxforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1543

So if it's over 2 weeks old, nothing happens?

Haha no, I'm comparing them to committing crimes..

When was the post you got an infraction for made? Also, most crimes tend to not go out of date :P Just make sure you get any witnesses and all is fine.

If it's over 2 weeks old then the chances are it won't be touched. Unless it was something serious such as someone posting porn, hacking links etc etc.

There is no adverse affect against you nope, but the content might be removed still

What are you actually going on about?

I got a warning and infraction about not changing my signature after my VIP was over, 8 months after it happened. And back then this infraction thing didn't even exist.

So I was saying there should be a time limit for these to be added haha.

Oversized signatures and avatar rules have been in place for more than 3 years. Are you saying you were asked to remove something over 8 months ago, didn't and then today for example you received a warning/infraction?

Thanks for the law lesson, will keep that in mind x

You get 24 hours from the intial PM to change your signature/avatar/profile picture otherwise it is removed and you will get a Profile Warning.
If you are inactive for a while, it'd be silly of us to just throw warnings at you so we wait until you come back, then you get 24 hours again.

Well not only I got a warning, also got the infraction... 8 months after it happened. Will just create a report for it and see what happens anyways.

Just wanted to know if this could be done after so long and be okay, but now that I know about the 2 weeks thing, I guess this thread has no need since the rule I was talking about already exists. :P

Points to the warning/infraction system have been in place for years. They were there when I was a Forum Moderator back in 2008 and probably were also there before that.

Are you sure you didn't have VIP 8 months ago but now you don't have VIP your avatar is too big. Surely that wouldn't have been picked up until you start posting again (which was a few days ago) so you only just received the infraction or something??

Did that make sense i'm not sure

This is what I thought :P Like I can't just murder someone, wait 20 years and then say "surprise look what I did" :P

But yeah I'm really confused even after reading the thread

LiquidLuck.

I still don't get this because I had never seen it before and I've had warnings issued...

If a warning gets expired after 2 months, then why am I getting it 8 months later saying it will expire in 2 months? I mean if it was gonna be given, it should have been given 8 months ago and should have expired 6 months ago..

Either way this thread about about an expiration date for issuing warnings & infractions, and now I've been told it was 2 weeks so I guess that's solved.

About infractions being in place, I meant the points stuff and how it's shown in your homepage. I had a number of warnings issued and never saw that before so I don't know if it's only that part that's new or not..

If it's your first warning/infraction then that is probably why you haven't seen it before. You wouldn't notice it if other people had them in most cases.

they dish out a lot of infractions lately

your rulebreak likely went unnoticed and a log-hungry mod spotted it and issues the infraction. dont worry it's not going to do anything if you break no more rules.

Right, I think I can help clear this up for you as well (as I'm not entirely sure if you've sorted it, I just read stuff about it being at vB for years).

When you left 8 months (approx.) ago, you still had VIP on your account therefore your avatar/signature/profile picture were in the limits until that ran out. Unfortunately, during your break your subscriptions ran out and therefore some of your images became oversized and it was reported a few times in the duration of your return.

Every time it was reported, nothing was done about it because you had left and hadn't logged on in X amount of time. Then, when you returned this meant you were able to change your images if you received a PM asking you to do so - this is the 24 hour period you have to change it. However, you will have received a warning/infraction if you didn't change it within the 24 hour period.

What I think you're talking about is, if you break a rule within a post, or VM for example you will receive a warning. If you do it again within a 2 month period this will then go to an infraction. The profile violation is similar, but the forum team couldn't do anything about it (apart from remove it, but then you could return wondering why it was removed), until you returned and you did. You didn't change it in time though. The two weeks rule doesn't apply for the profile violation rule.

I hope this clears stuff up.

Samanfa; Calum0812; already did a great job at clearing it up for me but thank you for doing it as well. I understand why I got the warning now, what I don't understand is if I have had other warnings before, why is it the first time one appears in my posts side bar and my home page. S:

If the others were just PMs to you then it won't come up as that's not a warning or infraction. However, when they're issued they should come up, but only you can see that and not the other members as far as a I know (apart from higher management as well).

Those were just informal warnings (PM + usernote), formal warnings have always given those sorts of notices only visible to you and certain staff.

Why did this warning get issued and others didn't then? S:

Severity of offence and history of offences, technically speaking you ignored an informal warning warranting a formal warning.

Not read posts after this but... Getting warnings off your manager in a department is quite different I think than getting a warning / infraction off of a forum mod.

I'm not sure if you're actually confusing those two, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

Oh, alright.. That makes sense. Because most PMs do say ''if you continue you will be warned/further action will be taken'', but I do have some that say ''I am giving you this warning'' so that's why I was wondering.

I know, I didn't mean those didn't meet the requirement whatever warnings, I meant I had been given warnings by forum mods before.

lol theyre really strict with sig sizes, I wonder if they have to check or they just instinctively know now. The way they say it it's like they were just biding their time waiting for you to log back in long enough haha.

We get read receipts from when they read it :p she logged off, read it and didn't change it so the warning was issued :p

i too think you're getting mixed up with department warnings or informal warnings. The only time you get a profile viewable warning/infraction is when you receive the 'You have received a _____ at Habbox Forum' pm or something.
