What sat nav do you use?
I need a new one I've never really used one before but had one sitting there for years and it seems crap and won't allow map updates without costing me £40 so I may as well buy a new one as they all seem to give lifetime map updates.
so what one do you have? (preferably recent-ish that's still on sale)

I find my phones too quiet for it, can barely hear phone saying anything when it's on max.
Using what apps btw?

Maybe try a Bluetooth speaker (you could stash it in the passenger footwell maybe) and that might help with the volume issue? For £30 for a cheap ish one, you may as well give it a go before blowing much more on a proper SatNav
Always hated using phones for sat nav, I have a really old one that barely work that my brother handed down to me lmao, still gets me from a to b.. just.
Do you have a CEX where you live? Because I know they sell satnavs and they're generally decent stores for second hand. scottish

I have this one

Does the job. Can be a little slow to connect to the satellites or whatever but I've had no problems with it in the first 6 months or so of having it :)

Just bought the TomTom Go 50, was down to £99.99 in Currys.
A lot better than using phone imho.

I know you've bought one now, but I use my Android phone connected to the car via bluetooth - works perfectly.

I've had and currently have built in GPS in my 11' 535 and 09' TSX but some of my past vehicles didn't. I've used TomTom, Magellan and Garmin and the only one I recommend is Garmin. The TomTom and Magellan were very hard to use and very inaccurate, I would overshoot turns but never with the Garmin. Make sure whatever system you buy has Navteq maps with upgrade capability. I'm currently running 09 maps in my TSX and you'd be surprised how things change in 5 years..
We don't tend to use proper Sat Nav's as we always get lost with them and they tell us the wrong things. I use google maps on my phone lol

I use my android phone for this.
The only time I have ever had to use it I've used the maps on my iPhone. Mam has one in her car but it's so old it's not even accurate anymore
