need help if anyone can answer this for me. so i start my job tomorrow and have been in education since 2013 so haven't been earning anything. so from my understanding the tax threshold is currently 11k so if you earn below 11k you don't pay tax and if you do earn more than that per year you pay tax.
so because i start in november and the tax year is april - april am i likely not to get taxed on my first few pay cheques until I reach the threshold of 11k?

no you get taxed on the average, so your pay for the rest of the tax year if its over 11k you'll get taxed a % of that

afaik..

but you deffo don't not get taxed until 11k then start getting taxed. if you're not gonna earn 11k before april you prob wont get taxed tho but idk ive not been in that position.

When I started my first job I got emergency taxed for a few weeks so I rang up after I left and they gave me the money back.. This is because when you start working your tax code won't be correct.
