When you get out a bread knife and use it on bread and that's all, do you bother washing it up or just brush the very few crumbs on the knife and put it back?

I'm washing it before I put it back!
Not unless I drop it on the floor after I've used it
I wash it because changes are when I'm cutting bread, I'm making a sandwich so then I'm putting mayo or something on it, so I use the knife to put that on and then I wash after :)
Depends if it's like a soft sticky bread but ALSO a bread knife is basically useless anyway. Unless your bread is hard as steel the serration just tears everything apart and leaves carnage everywhere while a properly sharpened chef's knife cuts in a straight line without ripping
When you slice your bread, do you smash it down and then cut or are you lightly holding it in place?
Delicate letting the sharp edge do the cutting rather than the pressure, otherwise it squishes out of shapeeeeeeee
