How much do you all budget?
I assume the older generation of us who no longer live with parents will budget or at least have a rough idea so you don't overspend.
I'm curious how.. extensively everyone else budgets.

I have a list of all my bills then how much I have leftover that month. Around 3/4 goes to my savings. Rest is for me to do whatever. Plus my mileage (which is around 3-4x the amount of petrol I put in) is also for me to save or spend. I save whatever's left the day before payday. Only thing I really budget is shopping but I don't keep an eye on it.
I'm kind of similar, I have a list of all bills and the date of them, but then I also have a list of everything that goes in/out of my bank.
I've also got my savings account roughly planned for like 2+ years in future...
I only put a certain amount in my savings though, so at the end of the month if I have £1000 extra then it stays in my current account and builds up so I can blow it all on something I want, I put 50% of disposable income into savings, if I do overtime etc it just stays in my current account.
I have certain months where I spend a bit more than others (like date nights, new tech stuff, IKEA trips, etc) so I like always having quite a bit of money to 'play' with.
One could only dream of having £1000 spare a month
It's rare :( working the odd weekend helps though given it's about £500 after tax/etc.
usually if I get a decent amount from overtime/expenses I end up 'treating' myself and buying a new computer table, bunch of smart home stuff, or buying loads when out for a meal
Usually on payday 1/3 goes into rent account, 1/3 goes into savings account and last 1/3 is for spending during the next two weeks. Usually that covers groceries, bills, and a few treats here and there and then I’d save whatever’s left by next payday. Most of the time this works fine but unexpected things usually comes out of savings (vet bills etc). Other than that I don’t really budget that much, we do meal plan though so that helps to keep our food costs lower.
You know the story, mortgage repayments, gas, electricity, council tax, internet, water, food etc. Bills, bills, bills.. saying that we're doing alright. Managing two holidays abroad this year.
I have never budgeted in my life. I've always been good with money, yet at the same time not good. Like I've never had to budget because I know my wages covers all my bills and luxuries and I've always bought and done things I want to do... but on the flip side of that, perhaps I'm terrible with money and I just don't know it, maybe if I actually was in a position where I had to budget, I'd be horrible at it and I'd file for bankruptcy in a matter of days lol.
If I pushed and didn't do anything for the month I can probably save around £2500 a month, there abouts, but I never really see the money building up in my bank as it goes into luxuries such as nights out, new gadgets and holidays etc, and more recently a mortgage.
Car Transporter. I take-home £850 a week.
It's a well paid job, but not one for life, I go to work 6am Monday and I don't come home till Friday at around 6pm... So I park up for the night during the week and I can't exactly go anywhere, I'm stuck in my cab watching films/TV shows etc... Which helps with the fact I can save so much as I literally spend no money during the week, plus my gas/electric bills are super low considering I'm only there at the weekends.
I'll probably do it for another 3-5 years then I'll go back to where I was which was a Manager at a Cinema
