Ahhhhhhhh the excitement.
This would be so me if I ever won the lottery!!
I decided to pre-emptively find some academies in Barcelona that weren't even advertising jobs and send them my CV and a paragraph. Sent about 10 last night. Already had one academy email with me and they want to talk over Zoom/WhatsApp, and another 4 have expressed interest in my CV. Really happy!
That's amazing!!!
I have everything crossed for you! I'm sure you will smash it
:OGOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!
Sounds great! Good luck! [emoji1696]

Well done Dan, that's great news.
I got a new job offer like 3 weeks ago now but am still waiting for occupational health to acknowledge a form I sent them saying yes I'm healthy, and no work has never sent me off the rails before.
But the department I currently work for is in such a shambles I honestly cba. Keep fantasising about just handing my notice in even though I still don't know how long the formal offer will take for this new job just bc I've had enough of my dept now.
I handed my notice in the day before my manager came back off holiday, so I told everyone I was leaving and literally everyone acted like they knew nothing about it the next day when she came in. When she saw me she blanked me, told me to get on my department and work, she never achknowledged my notice until the last day when she got me a card (she was supposed to get me a gift, but couldn't afford it). The leaders (one in particular) bought me a few gifts and was heartbroken I was leaving, including the assistant manager. That manager has since been sacked, I still get asked about as my bf works there, I always have a job there waiting for me if I want it and if I go shopping there I have to free up at least an hour of my time because everyone still talks to me. Leaving was the best thing I ever did and I'm in a company that appreciate me so much more, the guilt won't last, especially if you leave to go onto bigger and better things.
Got the job in Barcelona after the interview, went really well.
Will be living here come September looks like!
omg THIS I always feel super guilty, but you gotta remember the company would drop you if they had to, it's all business.
Notice story time
My last job I was extremely unhappy and extremely stressed out, I did not have a... pleasant.. manager. We faked getting on enough but she was yeah just a bit of a bully. Completely reliant on my skills cos she had no idea what I even did. Anyway. I told her I was leaving in an informal way before officially handing her my notice, she got so mad. Shouted at me for something really small to do with work.
That was the last time I ever spoke to her.
She spent my 3 week notice period ignoring and avoiding me. Took my last days incl. leaving do where managers normally give a speech... off work. Hadn't taken annual leave in like a year, but took those 3 days off.
MADNESS!

Congrats!! Same sort of job?
So pretty. Would love to go see the Sagrada Familia again!
@lawrawrrr;
How did you react to being shouted at in work? That's something I haven't experienced yet in the workplace.
Yep teaching English to kids-teens-adults. It's a really nice academy and their methods fit in with mine so it's an ideal fit it sounds like.
After the horrendous year I had from last July which I nearly didn't make it out of, it's so nice to come out the other side now and look to the future! :)
