Soon to handle supply management! How?

My boss told me that I am going to handle the supply management. But, I said I'm not that ready for it yet. Still, he believes with my capabilities that i can do it efficiently. Well, I know this is not an easy work to do, and I am going to tackle much problems in terms of workloads and issues. Foremost, I am not too familiar with the set up and what will I exactly use to make it easier. Have you been into this kind of work? I hope to hear some words from you about it.

You will learn on the job and understand it more as you go. Nothing easy to start with but you get used to it and learn to do things in your own way

No idea about supply management but your boss appears to be doing the right thing. He believes in you and is throwing you in at the deep end.
