It's time these MPs - all of whom support a second referendum - give their constituents a People's Vote on their decision to change party. After all, if you remember when Carswell and Reckless left Cameron's Tories to join Ukip they both resigned and stood in by-elections. I wonder if those who are so keen on making people vote over and over will subject themselves to a second vote? Don't hold your breath with this lot.
It's also likely there will be some ultra-Remain Tories jumping soon, as they're currently facing deselection by their local parties. The likes of Nick Boles, Anna Soubry, Dominic Grieve, Philip Lee, Heidi Allen - as a Tory member, I wish they would leave this very hour but all good things come to those who wait. It's a near certainty though.
I have for YEARS advocated all the Blairites join one party together and it looks like I am getting my wish.
Interesting historical anecdote: In the 1980s Labour split like this over Europe and the party drifting to the Left, and it led to Mrs Thatcher winning three successive General Election victories with Labour out of power and divided from 1979 to 1997.
Thoughts? Would you vote for this new Blairite party?
