Sir Ken Dodd dies aged 90
Comedian and entertainer with a career that began in 1954 passes away after illness

Comedian Sir Ken Dodd has died at the age of 90, his publicist has said.
The stand-up star was discharged from the Liverpool Heart and Chest hospital just under two weeks ago, following a six-week stay for a nasty chest infection.
Speaking after his dismissal from hospital, he said: "I have been so very, very well-treated – I can’t praise the staff here too highly.
"They have been absolutely wonderful. And the kindness and, dare I say it, affection I have been shown has been absolutely amazing."
Born in Liverpool in 1927, his stage and comedy career spanned more than seven decades.
He was knighted last year in the New Year's Honours by Prince William at Buckingham Palace for services to entertainment and charity.
