Sam the Slayer blitzed everybody, what are you talking about! Did you not see the chesterfield he made out of bodies?
That was utter dogshit. I was going to make a short list of the worst parts but it turned into a long list because so much was just rubbish

There aren't new writers. Episode five was written by David Benioff & D. B. Weiss, who have been the show runners since the beginning. I really think they've lost steam. I keep reading reports (don't know how valid they are) that they're kind of over with GOT and want to move on to other things (like their new Star Wars contract). Apparently HBO wanted the usual ten episodes, but D&D said they would get it done in six. I re-watched season seven before eight began, and before that I had watched the series thus far twice over. Season one to four are brilliant, and season five and six are decent, with some very good moments. In comparison, season seven and eight are so rushed with none of the intrigue that made the other seasons so great. I still enjoy it for the characters, but they have basically been reduced to pitiful husks. Such a shame.
Oh I meant new writing as in not GRRM :P can't see him turning it into this trope-filled virtue signalling mess after having crafted his characters so carefully. I know it's being made for a simple American audience but GoT isn't supposed to have happy endings with the "I was nothing now I'm king of the world because of fate" nonsense that you get in every 13 year old's fantasy story
