    Default Skype Security

Over the past couple of days there are certain individuals targeting the fansite community by sending them files via skype that could infect their computer with malicious content. They are normally sending files that end in .exe and .pf file formats. It seems that the content that has been sent has been used to hack that person and helps them gain access to other accounts on your computer such as Habbo.

We recommend that you turn off the "automatically accept incoming files" on Skype - This feature means any files that are sent to you on skype is automatically downloaded to your computer. We also suggest you are cautious when accepting any files through Skype.

Below is a guide on how to turn off "automatically accept incoming files":

    Windows

Tools > Options > IM Settings > Show Advanced Options > Take the tick out of "Automatically accept incoming files" and hit Save.

    Mac

Skype > Preferences > General > Take the tick out of "Automatically accept incoming files"

Just a bump as this seems to be increasing. Also make sure you have a strong password for your Skype and if you haven't changed your password for a good few years, I would also suggest you change it as well.
