    Question Cycling

Has anyone here had any experience with cycling?

Im looking for a decent bike, but I'm not sure what I need.

Basically I want to cycle to work, and other places (by road) so it made sense to me to get a road bike... I also would probably want to do bike paths like in the woods or whatever there is... but I'm assuming a road bike wouldn't be suitable?

Just wondering if there's any advice and also and suggestions for a good place to get helmets, lights etc from that you could recommend

    Thanks

I recently took it up before Christmas and me and my friend bought cheapest we could find as we were starting off.

I'd never had a road bike before, only mountain bikes. I got this one below from the Halfords website which is cheapest but best I could find. It comes with pedal clips which is good as my friends which was slightly cheaper didn't and it makes a hell of a difference. Not sure if you've driven a road bike before but they're so much easier.

Next I bought kit but went for copies as I was only just starting off. It's still good stuff from this supplier (I got Sky kit).

Shoes the same really, cheapest I could find and they're fine.... besides they get covered with overshoe if you get.

The rest like cap, helmet, jacket, gloves I got from internet too on Amazon. There's so many brands to buy from on there it is endless.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...ilpage_o02_s00 (neck scarf)

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...ilpage_o06_s00 (jacket)

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...ilpage_o07_s00 (gloves)

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...ilpage_o08_s00 (helmet)

For summer kit i'm gonna go a bit more expensive as we've stuck to it for now so i'll probably get a shorter (better brand) aero speedsuit.

    Hope it helps.
