    Default Le Parkour

    Hey guys,

I'd say I'm new to these forums, but well I'm really not, however, I am interested if anyone on this forum practises the french discipline, Le Parkour.

I have been training in this way of life for a year now and it truly releases you from all pressures about you.

    It has many benefits:

    • It Makes You Fit
    • Greatly Improves Your Health
    • Prompt You To Improve Your Diet
    • Freedom
    • You Make Great New Friends
    • It Looks Damn Right Cool

The whole philosophy of Parkour is a great one, allowing you to move freely about your surroundings, I'm not talking taking an escalator, I'm talking the freedom and technique to jump or vault over the side of a set of stairs, landing and keep going as if you had done nothing out of the ordinary.

I reccomend Parkour to anyone who wants to break free of the rule restricting sports that currently lead the way.

Here are some of my favourite videos of traceurs, people who practise Parkour devoutly as a mindset, not as a way of showing off:

This is my favourite video that has ever been made by a traceur, I have trained with this man in the past as we live relatively close to each other. This video is not about big stunts, it is about the subtlety of movement.

Another great video, even if it is free running, daniel is a brilliant traceur.

    Another by Daniel.

If anyone is interested in Parkour, here are some links to good parkour sites, and if you have any questions, PM me or post on there

Above all those facts, should be: "Can also kill yourself if you're not careful" lol.

My mates do parkour, one of em' broke their arm a while back.

Whilst it is possible to damage your body,

You should not be attempting anything that is out of your league at any point anyway, I myself have never received more than a sprain.

The website I reccomended clearly state ways to avoid injury

I would also reccomend that if anyone does wish to start this, that they are over 15 years.

Your body is doing a hell of alot of development between 10 and 15, by about then you generally stop growing and your body strengthens.

It's more for safety as a younger person's body really is not developed for the shocks involved.

I like watching people do it but I'd rather play a real sport to be honest.

Also the intro in the first link makes the guy sound like he's enrolling for Jedi training
