Red face What Are 3D Films Like?

Ive been woundering what a 3D film would look like if i went to see one in the cinema because last experiance i had with the 3D effect thing was ages bk with the 3D glass's and a book with just red and green lines in it displaying a 3D'ish image when the glass's was on so i was woundering how the picture would look like would it be the same or would u still get the same quality of image as u wuld if u went to watch a none 3D one.
