I'd stick with a 1.6 C2, as the others would feel gutless compared to your Focus. Which means you'll put your foot down a bit more. Which means you use more fuel in the long run. Stick with a 1.6

Of course, booting the arse off a car doesn't exactly help fuel economy so if you find yourself doing that I wouldn't.
Why not try a diesel? Some of them aren't big daft tanks anymore - take my mum's Vauxhall Zafira SRi 1.9 CDTi for example - it's a big person-lugging MPV that can beat most fibreglass bodykitted Saxos away from the lights and manages upwards of 60 mpg!
my car's a diesel! many people overlook them.. sure they sound horrible, but it's got 175bhp with the remap and driven sensibly it gets 50mpg, up to 65 on the motorways
i'm the star in the reasonably priced car!
I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.
Get a 1.6 Diesel 2002+ Fiesta. You can get up to 400 miles on a tank of petrol and it can be remapped to develop 100BHP.
