It's probably the best looking ultra-low-budget film of all time.

Never seen Dan in Real Life and don't want to. I agree that Blair Witch is awful.

Or maybe you just don't like cinema verite - there's the trend there with Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity.

Probably. I just felt Paranormal Activity was overhyped, so cliché and plot holes all over the place. For example, at the start of the film you see him playing about with a knife in the kitchen, close-up of the knife... oh I wonder what's going to happen in this film... end of the film and boom.

For the budget, it's fantastic and the director should be snapped up but in comparison to other films that made it to cinema etc... it's poor.

Dan in Real Life is a good film! I don't know how you think it's the worst film ever made? I think Adam'll agree (as he's the one who showed me it haha) that Birdemic is the worst film ever made.

    Dan in Real Life.

Me and a male friend went to watch it, needless to say everyone thought we were homosexuals i.e looking/staring/waiting to see homosexual touching. Not only that, it was just bad. I'm going to watch it again though, it might be better second time around.

I take it you pirated it as you saw an alternate ending, not one used in the theatrical release.

As a games writer, this is completely out of my league but I made a point a while ago that if you make an indy game then you don't want any mercy. You want it to be valued against every other big budget money money game, and not be simply let by because you're an indie developer. You've put your heart and soul into the game and it's sort of defeating when people say "well... for the budget and indy-ness it's very nice.", if a game sucks then it sucks. I don't know whether it's the same with film, maybe Adam/Misawa could elaborate on this, but I think it's wrong to say 'For the budget, it's fantastic'.

Yes, of course, for an semi-Indy film it's pretty darn good - but I'd rather describe it against full money money cinema. Which I guess you were doing at the end of your comment.

Exactly. It's demeaning and disrespectful to it otherwise.
