Habbox Competitions...

[Inseriousity.]

- Comps is one of the small departments so would be at a distinct disadvantage during any awards ceremony.
- The gap is usually 3 days.
- It was changed to the current system in 2010. Before that, there used to be only 9 competitions a month and they'd all last a month. Entries were around the 100 mark. The system which included the gap eventually resulted in a consistent 500 entries every month. This was changed by future management to cover the gap (their own choice) but entries started to decrease. I restored the gap in April (as I said due to personal preference) but entries are still low. Essentially, there is little evidence that gap/no gap has any significant impact on the success of the department and that other factors are more important.

I don't see the problem with the gap of a couple of days on the 28 days+ months, but any more is pushing it.

I don't think events staff have to host during those times either (although it'd be very good if they did), but that might've changed. Dunno how the other depts work.

It's the end of the month. There is only 3 staff including both managers (which are not away at the moment). All three of us have eleven competitions each to produce this month so thats 33 competitions which will be out this month. That's basically one a day. It's the calendar changeover period. It's the end of the month @!:random!:!; and I am 100% certain more than 2 competitions have been posted this month (May). Maybe you could help us out and apply to produce more competitions for the community?

Great to see people moaning when they don't enter competitions themselfs.

A) You're dulling the department
B) It doesn't concern you if you do not even use it.
C) Why don't you apply to turn things around in the department.

That post in itself makes the department look bad.

Feedback is to try and help point out the areas that need improving, not for a loan staff member to take the defensive and start telling people that they're 'dulling the department' simply because they are highlighting the fact that comps isn't doing too well. Just because they don't enter doesn't mean they shouldn't be commenting on it's performance.... what even.

I'd take a step back and maybe let management sort this one out.


Let's hope staff numbers will eventually increase which will see a few more competitions being released. I think, for the amount of staff the department does have, it's done ok. It's not like there's been 0 comps for an entire month.
