While having swine flu they could have died from other causes, old age, heart attack, whatever. It was just an estimate, not an official figure.

Also, I thought there was going to be a pandemic but I wasn't worried. Infact I welcomed it. We never get any "the world might end scenarios in this day and age and it's really boring.

As for swine flu, it seems to be stabilising now which is a good thing, I think maybe now the worst has passed.

4 schools closed now & 27 confirmed cases altogether.

It's only a very mild flu & apparently like seasonal flu, so I don't know what all those people at the start of the thread saying "100s of millions could die!" we're thinking. I guess they haven't learnt the lesson yet from all the other life threatening things we hear on the news like bird flu, SARs, the endless amounts of things that can cause cancer and we should avoid, the credit crunch that will destroy the economy and many conspiracy theories like 2012, 6/6/6 etc etc.

With the healthcare in this country and how well prepared we are. I expect 0 deaths even if a pandemic kicks off.
