    Here we go

    Misc. Tips
    • Hold CTRL to run.
    • Press Alt+PrintScrn to take ss of just the RS window (then paste it to MS Paint). Or download a screenshot program like Gadwin PrintScreen.
    • If you don't want to fight an enemy, equip a bow with no arrows. Useful for thieving.
    • Surf the web or do other activities while doing a repetitive task in Runescape.
    • Never carry all your cash with you. Only carry what you are willing to lose.
    • When buying lots of store items, switch to "one mouse button" (under Game Options). It's easier on your fingers.
    • If you bury bones or drop items RIGHT as your character attacks, you won't suffer a delay attacking the next round. This is helpful when your inventory is close to full.
    • Use the Official Runescape Forums to check prices of all items.
    • To alch using the number pad, use the MouseKeys program on Windows XP. Start->Control Panel->Accessibility Options->Mouse Tab->Use MouseKeys. Documentation can be found here.
    • Stand up and stretch every hour to feel refreshed. This is especially important if you're training for a long time. You need not sign off to do this.

    Combat Tips:
    • Find weak, fight easy-to-hit monsters such as ogres, giants, experiments.
    • To kill easy monsters, wear +strength and +attack gear.
    • To kill high-level monsters, wear +attack and +defense gear.
    • Use Excalibur/Dragon Baxe (special) and Restore Pots to boost stats.
    • Use the Salve Amulet to fight against ghosts, zombies, and skeletons.

    Ranged Tips:
    • Lure large enemies such as Ogres into obstacles.
    • Look for enemies that occupy 2x2 squares.
    Prayer Tips:
    • For beginners, try fighting Ogres, Jogres, Giants, and Baby dragons.
    • Complete the Ghosts Ahoy Quest to gain access to 4x experience per bone (you need to pray at the altar with bone meal and buckets of slime)
    • To use the Ghosts Ahoy method (bone grinding), buy 200+ pots and 200+ buckets, and have dueling rings/glories, ectophial, and a Ghostspeak ammy. Fill 26 buckets with slime, grind 13 bones for two trips, worship 12 times (need an empty slot for ectotokens), and repeat.
    • Fight green dragons in wildy for dragon bones. You can use ancient teles (lvl 84 magic) to speed up the process.
    Magic Tips:
    • If you're high alching, stand next to a nature chest (Ardy) or runite rocks (Hero's Guild).
    • Alch your old rings and necklaces that have one charge remaining.
    • When there's a new update, make your way to a rune store, because it restocks all its runes!
    • To train magic using spells, try to attack caged monsters (zombies under Magic Guild, Shilo zombies, etc) with negative Magic attack bonus (wear rune). This lets you cast without killing monsters.
    Runecrafting Tips:
    • For fire runes, use dueling rings to tele, then use glory ammy to tele back to Edgeville bank.
    • For nature runes, do the Gnome Stronghold quest for glider access. You can then use the glider at Al Kharid and glory ammies to speed up each trip.
    • Kill leeches in the Abyss for pouches.
    • If you're using the Abyss, bring an emergency tele, cheap magic defense equipment, and a cheap pickaxe. Manually drop your pouches if death is inevitable.
    Agility Tips:
    • Bring cakes and don't heal till you're below 20 hp.
    • Use super energy potions to finish laps faster.
    • Don't wear heavy armor.
    • Recipe for Disaster's monkey agility course offers the best xp.
    Herblore Tips:
    • For herbs, try: chaos druids in Ardy Tower/Yanille Dungeon, aberrant specters using Cannifis ancient tele, or Men in Edgeville.
    • Buy vials from Ardy general store at off-peak hours.
    • The Unid Test: Request two notes of each unid from the seller. Leave one of each note in your inventory, then bank, withdraw, and ID the other note. Now fill your inventory completely (need cash to trade too) with junk. The trade won't go through unless it's the unid's you want.
    • Make easy-to-sell potions to minimize costs. Try super sets, ranging pots, and super energies.
    Thieving Tips:
    • Use the cake stall below level 40.
    • Pickpocket on the east gate of Varrok, in the tiny booth with one guard (lvl 40-60).
    • Thieve Ardy Knights when you're lvl 60+.
    • It doesn't matter what you wear (I bring a bow with no arrows). Also, you can thieve again the moment the text shows a success.
    • Crack safes in the Rogue's Den as an alternative to pickpocketing. You get gems too.
    Crafting Tips:
    • For the poor, craft bowstrings in Seers. There's a spinner on second floor of house.
    • For the rich, make dragon bodies and then alch them.
    • For the smither, use studs on leather bodies, then alch the studded bodies.
    Fletching Tips:
    • Below level 70, fletch unstrung willows.
    • After level 70, fletch and string Yew or Magic Longbows.
    • Use Gnome Stronghold for Yews, and Lleyta for flax.
    Slayer Tips:
    • Use Edgeville slayer below slayer lvl 85, and Shilo above lvl 85.
    • Bring cannon to Daggonoths, Black Demons, and Kalphite Soldiers.
    • If you're fighting tough monsters, wear defensive items. If you're fighting easy monsters, wear attack and strength-boosting gear.
    • Carry cash, enchanted gem, and tele runes.
    Mining Tips:
    • Power mine granite in the desert quarry south of the Bandit Camp. Sandstone is okay, too.
    • Use the Mining Guild for coal.
    • Mine gold in Keldagrim after completing Between a Rock... quest.
    Smithing Tips:
    • For the poor, try smithing and alching your own iron plates.
    • Use rings of forging if you plan on smelting your own iron.
    • Great steel items to make: cannonballs, steel plates, steel arrowheads.
    Fishing Tips:
    • Fly fishing in Shilo is the fastest experience.
    Cooking Tips:
    • Save and cook every fish you catch for great xp.
    • Great places to cook: Fishing Guild, Castle Wars, Burthorpe Rogue's Den, Lumbridge range (after completing Recipe for Disaster).
    Firemaking Tips:
    • Light fires on long strips of land like Varrok West, Rogue's Den, Draynor, etc.
    • For fast (but costly) experience, light Yew logs.
    • Try to do forum trading and bank sales while you're burning logs.
    Woodcutting Tips:
    • Gnome Stronghold's bank has 3 Yews.
    • Cut willows (Draynor) for experience and Magics (south of Seers) for gold.
    Farming Tips:
    • Plant trees and fruits for the best xp. Pay farmers if you can.
    • Avoid hops unless you need to brew beer.
    • Write down planting times on a sheet of paper to get an idea of when to harvest. Synchronize yourself to harvest all four patches of one type of crop to avoid excessive maintenance.
    • For the poor, try trading herbs for herb seeds.
    • Make your own supercompost with pineapples picked in Brimhaven near the Metal Dragon Dungeon.
Guide to Organizing Your Computer for RS (Windows XP)
In this guide, I'll give you a tour of how my computer is set up for RS.
First, we need to create a folder for saved RS files:
    1. Create a folder in My Documents called "Runescape."
    2. Put everything that pertains to Runescape into that folder.
Now that you have a starting folder, you can start organizing its files...
Goal 1: Create an RS Toolbar menu like this.
Helps quickly access key files and programs.

    1. Suppose you have this as your folder, and you wish to access the red highlighted items faster.
    2. Inside the "Runescape" folder, create a new folder called "RS." Then right-click each red highlighted item to create a shortcut. Move all the shortcuts into the "RS" folder like this. Move whatever other shortcuts you wish to access also (I have a timer and the official RS client).
    3. Now, right click on the Windows Taskbar (the blue bar on bottom). Select Toolbars, New Toolbar, and select your "RS" folder. You can slide the RS Toolbar to the left (like I have it in my picture) by unlocking the taskbar and dragging the RS Toolbar to the left.
Goal 2:Find Alternate Ways to Keep in Touch.
Useful if you regularly delete your Friends List.

I use my RS Friends List for merchants and temporary contacts, so there has to be another way to keep stable Runescape contacts.
The answer is to use popular chat programs like mIRC, MSN Messenger, AIM, or Teamspeak to meet up.
Keep in mind that advertising websites or products is against Jagex rules.
Note: I used to keep a text file on my PC with a list of my RS friends, but that's discontinued.
Goal 3: Store snippets of notes using a Notepad file.
    1. Very straight-forward. All you do is create a new text file called "RS Notepad" inside your "Runescape" folder, then add a shortcut to the RS Toolbar. You can then open it and type a note to yourself whenever you find something interesting.
Goal 4: Access reference lists faster.
    1. Go into the Guides section of this site and save all the .txt files into your "Runescape" folder.
    2. Create shortcuts for each guide, move them into the RS Toolbar.
    3. Done. You can now access simple information such as alching prices, approximate task times, experience charts, etc, quickly without using the internet.
Note: If my guides are confusing, you can make your own following the same steps. Ample reference is available on a variety of fansites.
Goal 5: Archive screenshots by month like this.
A blogging approach to archiving pictures.

    1. Create a folder named "RS Pictures Archive" and place it in My Pictures.
    2. Create a folder named "Temp RS" in My Documents.
    3. From the beginning to end of a month, accumulate all your screenshots into the Temp RS folder. At the end of the month, rename the Temp RS folder into something like "1 December 2005" then move it into your "RS Pictures Archive."
    4. Make another Temp RS folder in its place.

    Thanks
