The thing that gets me about this is if anyone says yes ban the burqa - it's specifically targeting Muslim women. But there's veils worn in Christianity and Hinduism that I know of, probably other orthodox sects of other religions as well.

I find this amazing right - if people wearing a headscarf are being IDd for something (for travel is my favourite example) I've seen stories (not sure if widespread or just the odd occasion) that they can't be forced to remove them even in private so how can you like get that??

I hardly ever saw anyone wearing a full burqa in my childhood/university years but I see women wearing them regularly in London now, it doesn't make me feel uncomfortable really but I understand why some people are a little freaked out or threatened by them?

It wouldn't do anyone any good to ban them so nope, would just be creating a pointless law and more paperwork

Conventional Christians don't wear a veil or any type of clothing to specifically show they practice the religion. You'll only see people like priests or nuns wearing those garments, and even still, they rarely ever leave the church.

But on a more serious note: I'm against this type of ban myself. As much as I don't want Muslims or Arabs in Europe, it would be a total violation of their rights and an act of bigoted discrimination to keep them from wearing something their religion requires them to.

Many muslims don't wear veils either!! And some of those nuns do leave the church.

Christian woman in public in Pakistan

    Orthodox Christians

    Jewish!

    Hindu refugees

    All from here btw: http://metro.co.uk/2016/10/06/can-yo...veils-6175120/

What I'm getting from your comment is it's okay but only in private/religious places? Which is a totally valid opinion!! I don't actually know what I feel about it haha.

Let Muslims/Arabs and Jews wear what they wish, as long as they've been cleared through background checks upon their arrival in these countries. It's not like a crazy person yelling Allahu Akbar in a crowded public place just to cause a panic.

Yes. I despise seeing them and would refuse to talk or communicate to anyone wearing one.

The public back a ban and it is time we had one. Assimilate or get out.

What if I wear one that would have nothing to do with assimilation just a choice of clothing
