Default [GCSE] Have you been promised a reward if you do well in GCSE's??

Thought it would be interesting to see what everyone's rewards were from parents etc.

Most people I know are getting different amounts of money for different grades that they get.
Personally I'm getting a 'decent' laptop if my grades are good enough.

No not at all. The reward is a future of being able to own your own house and have a decent car, have enough money for a good lifestyle so the odd meal at a restaurant and going on holidays etc. You shouldn't really need "rewards" to make you do well in your GCSE's, it isn't really that hard to figure out that if you don't put the effort in your life will be crap as you will have no money and struggle to get a job. But I don't know, I have always been a great believer in having a strong mind, I guess it helps give that little extra motivation knowing you will be getting something you want pretty soon. I'll be putting maximum effort in either way, reward from parents or no reward from parents.

When I did my GCSE's, no, I wasn't. The reason being that I shoudn't need a reward for doing well. I did it for myself and so should everyone else. The true reward will come when you go further in education and so get a better job.

I've not asked and there hasn't been any mention of it at all. I imagine if I do really well my dad might get me something if I asked but otherwise they'll probably be a meal out and lots of well dones and that's fine for me
