Yes the bottom of the glass would need to be curved, to make sure the charge of water is attracted by the bottom of the glass and that it is everywhere. The ring stand is a good idea too. Sorry if I didn't explain it well but scientific terms are hard for me in english :p. Pretty good idea. 7/10.
