love emo. not too keen on screamo but it reely depends. i go for the songs not the genre of the bands... and sure... 'its ree agen !!' is entitled to an opinion but never judge anyone by what music they listen to, judge the music not the listener =] keep the peace.

    Totally.
But srsly Rise Against is like a weak attempt at a punk band polished to appeal to 9 year olds.

The problem with the term emo is that its easily attatched to anything and everything. Many people think it stands for 'emotional', and that is such a broad statement, it can be said for any band. Also, its pretty much the only genre a band is proud to be tagged with. These days, bands want to be called emo.

So with all of that, it really gets out of control who is called emo. It never used to be like this really.

If I could, I would rep you, I really would.
Emo has nothing to do with emotional, it stands for emotive hardcore, and was a scene started as a throwback against the hideously macho tough-guy hardcore scene at the time, giving bands room to sing about deeper matters than drink and sex.

I've never really understood the term emo, so much controversy over it its hard to believe a lot of stuff said.
I don't listen to that type of music myself but interested by the cycle of music phazes.
