it would be difficult to get the black middle pawn over to that side of the board, u would usually change for a queen, but they got a bishop, then got it all the way back :/

no sierk technically its impossible, because if you look at the black bishop, its on the light squares isnt it. all the pawns surrounding where it would have started are still in-tacked, so how did it get out?

ok so i say one of the pawns moves out of its way so that it can go up diagonally to the right but im not sure how far

what I meant is that you are correct in concluding that the black bishop can not have come from C8. But this is only the beginning of the solution...

im guessing the black bishop came from h2? after swapping a pawn.

maybe the white bishop would have moved out of the way of it?

you mean B2. yes thats the only place it can be from.

why are we concerned with where the black bishop came from anyway, its about the move made by the white one :s
